In the summer of 1969, on August 15, 16 and 17, thirty-two acts performed outdoors in front of half a million people at the Woodstock Music and Art Fair. Regarded as one of the greatest and most pivotal moments in popular music history, the Woodstock Music and Art Fair was listed on Rolling Stone’s 50 Moments That Changed the History of Rock and Roll.
Arnold Skolnick designed the original poster for Woodstock. His dove-and-guitar logo played an essential role in the success of one of the largest rock festivals America has known. According to Skolnick, “Something was tapped, a nerve, in this country. And everybody just came.”
A talented Madison Avenue advertising director, Skolnick listened to and understood his client’s wants and needs. “The client said he wanted the event to be ‘peaceful, three days long and a lot of music’ so that’s what I gave him.”
In honor the 40th anniversary of this once-in-a-lifetime event… an event that celebrated a generation’s expression of peace, love, and freedom, Furniture Direct is pleased to offer: “Woodstock 3 Days of Peace & Music”.
To create the brilliantly, vivid colors of this art piece, the Giclee fine art printing process was utilized in its production. Printed on a generous 45” x 60” canvas, the stretched canvas is hand embellished to create richly textured brush strokes. The finished piece is a work of art worthy of prominent placement.
