We know how important your furniture selection is to you, and with that in mind, we need your help to make sure the fabrics or leather you’re choosing for your order are the right ones.

You need to know as much as possible about the fabric used to cover the sofa, loveseat, or ottoman before contacting us for pricing.  All pricing is determined by the grade of fabric or leather.

From microfiber to high grade leather, there are a variety of choices available for many of the items you’ll find here at FurnitureofAmerica.com.   We suggest you do what you can to see some of these options in-person.  Your sales associate is often able to order fabric swatch samples for most pieces, but whatever upholstery “homework” you’re able to do prior to placing your order will insure that you’re getting the fabric you want.

Leathers are often more difficult to acquire swatch samples from some manufacturers, making a showroom visit to see & feel the leather selections in-person that much more important.

Having trouble deciding whether or not to make the investment in leather furniture?  Remember, leather is four times more durable than fabric and gets better with age. 

There are two types of fabric: natural and synthetic. As a rule, synthetic fabrics are more durable, color-fast and cleanable (the exception being leather.) To determine the fabric’s durability, run your hand over it. Tightly-woven fabrics and fabrics that are heavy will stand up to wear and tear better, as will leather. Fabrics such as satins, brocades or damasks are more delicate, and should be reserved for places where they’ll get less use.

Microfiber is a blend of polyester and polyamide. Fabrics made with microfibers are exceptionally soft and hold their shape well.
